High education and training activities.

The higher education activity has been mainly focused on third level training (doctorates), with positive effects on the second level (Laurea Magistrale, Master). Specifically, thanks to COMP-HUB, it was increased the sustainability and impact of doctoral courses by making available on the Project 20 PhD scholarships during the 5 years Project. The available resources have been also used to improve training activities and therefore the attractiveness of the Doctoral Program, with the establishment of a new positions of Visiting Professor, in addition to the 4 already existing, and the establishment of new high-level courses dedicated to the doctorate, both in the specific disciplinary field (monographic courses and introductory courses to laboratory techniques, also in relation to new ones acquired tools), and with the "transversal" activities common to several PhD courses (e.g. for language skills, drafting and management of projects, business creation, intellectual property and dissemination). In addition to the doctorate courses of the Dept. these activities will also benefit the other PhD programs in the scientific field of the University, whose students will be guaranteed access to the training activities. Among the activities carried out for PhD and Post-docs it is to mention the workshop “From Lab to Market” on the entrepreneurship and technology commercialization, held in collaboration with the Austrian Institute of Technology, partly in Vienna and in Parma.

The educational activities of the two new Associate Professors will be scheduled as part of the master's degree programs through courses on subjects within their competence. Some of the didactic activities of the doctorates will be made accessible to the students of the master's degrees. The recruitment of RTD will have positive repercussions on the thesis experience of the graduate students.

Also 9 annual positions of Post-Doc fellowships have been funded by the project, to support the research activities of the five different Working Groups.
